There aren't many hill top castles in this country, but Valkenburg has got one, albeit a ruin. It dominates the little town and it's wonderful go climb up to it.

De kasteelruïne was het hoogst gelegen kasteel in Nederland. Het in de loop van de eeuwen verschillende keren gebouwd en verwoest en de bestaande ruïne bestaat sinds 1672. Het had diverse ondergrondse vluchtwegen waarvan er een naar de Fluwelen grot. Je kan dus een gecombineerd entreeticket kopen.
