The beach of Plathiena is located at the north side of the island and is very close to Plaka village. Up to June or early July you can see the sun setting in the water, while swimming at this beautiful sandy beach, or drinking a coffee at the beach bar.

I like to chill at the beach bar and drink my coffee in the morning there. If the weather is fine the sea is incredible for swimming and there are also some points you can sit under trees for physical shade.

Plathiena is a beach in northern Milos, in a bay that is somehow protected from frequent meltemia. . Access is very easy, on a narrow road in good condition. The beach is sandy, with shallow waters and some low-growing trees in the sand. In the summer there is a small canteen that operates there, providing drinks, but it only works during the high season. The best beach to enjoy the sunset.

La plage de Plathenia, en forme de calanque, qui est la plus proche du monastère est aussi l'une des plus agréable. La température de l'eau est généralement comprise en 24° et 28° et on peut y rester très longtemps. J'ai plusieurs fois nagé avec quelques grandes tortues vertes peu farouches.
