Two of our guests drove up to Apple Hill Farm in Banner Elk in August, 2019, and absolutely LOVED it! They said it was definitely worth the drive. Banner Elk is beautiful mountain country, and if you love animals, getting out in the country, and being in nature, then this is the day trip for you! Tours daily mid-May to mid-October. Open Oct-May with fewer tours and shorter store hours.
