A hamlet on a shingle beach. A local sea-swimming spot. No toilet or refreshment facilities. Shingle Street was the location for "Yesterday" (12) 2019, and for "The Child in Time" (BBC) 2017 starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kelly Macdonald. A dramatisation of Ian McEwan’s award-winning novel.

A report from October 2004 suggests that Shingle Street is at risk from the sea and could disappear within 20 yea
