Experience the dramatic history of railroads and the War Between the States at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History! The Museum is home to "The General", the locomotive made famous during the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862. It also houses an impressive Civil War collection, and the Glover Machine Works, a restored early 20th century belt-driven locomotive assembly line. The Jolley Education Center offers numerous hands-on and interactive exhibits that are fun for the entire family. Open Mon - Sat, 9:30 - 5:00 and Sunday, 11:00 - 6. Adult admission is $7.50.

There are 10 civil war sites along Hwy 75 from Atlanta beltway to the TN border. These sites within a 2 hour drive from the cabin.
