Black Hawk is full of casinos and its sister city, Central City, is the original city with tours through beautiful, older buildings; art galleries; casinos; the first dispensary in the state of Colorado; a thrift store; etc.

The Central City Opera in Colorado was started by Welsh and Cornish miners and is the fifth oldest opera house in the country. It was built to answer the town’s need for a grand opera fitting for the town’s reputation of being “the richest square mile on earth.” It hosts a number of performing arts throughout the year.
