Petersham Bowling Club

The old lawn-bowling greens are awesome for families: Adults hang out while kids take over the fields. The beer is crafty and ever-changing, dumplings are cheap and cooked by a neighbour, and musical acts—from local bands to international bluegrass groups—regularly take the stage. The manager, John, is the friendliest guy ever. You can’t miss his beard. On Sundays, they have a DJ out on the greens and usually offer a jumping castle and slippery slide to keep kids occupied while parents soak up the sun. The music tends toward reggae or something Inner Westy—you’ll like it even if you’ve never heard it.
