Bridgetown overlooks Carlisle Bay, a natural harbor and the setting for many water sports. Popular Pebbles Beach, on the south side of the bay, offers a pleasing crescent of soft, white sand and calm waters for swimming. At the nearby Boatyard Beach Club, you can rent sun lounges and umbrellas, dine at the beachside restaurant, and participate in the many water-based activities on offer. Carlisle Bay Marine Park is a popular spot for scuba diving, with many relics from old shipwrecks scattered across the ocean floor.

Submerged beneath the turquoise-green waters of Carlisle Bay exist a stunning marine park. Carlisle Bay-Marine Park is a historic bay with numerous ship wrecks, 4 of which are of particular interest. The wrecks play host to several marine species and schools of fish. The park explodes with numerous vibrant colours and diving here is excellent for all levels of certified divers; ideally suited for beginners.

The larger boat tours will undoubtedly stop at Carlisle Bay near Bridgetown for a snorkel stop. The area is another Marine Park (there is also one just a short walk from Art Studios at Folkestone). Carlisle Bay hosts several ship wrecks in shallow water and most of the tours will give you life jackets and snorkelling equipment so you can swim over the wrecks and swim with the turtles. It's a "must do" if you're a first time visitor to Barbados. Sunset cruises normally also stop at Carlisle Bay before the sun goes down. Day cruises are typically 5 hours and sunset cruises are typically 3 hours. Both usually include a meal and drinks.

One of the more popular and longer beach strips. You can find activities such as swimming with turtles, jet skiing, paddle ball, paddle surfing, snorkeling among other things. There's fun stuff to do for all age groups
