Another great place for paddle board, kayak, and canoe rentals. Driving to Boulder can be a 30-50 minute drive depending on traffic hours but I highly recommend making a whole day trip out of it.

If you want to paddle broad, float, swim Boulder reservior is the place to do it.

o For running/ hiking trails on the prairie – a 5-10 minute drive from Hawthorn House, some of my favorites are Boulder Reservoir Loop and the Boulder Valley Ranch, where both the Sage and Eagle Trails are relatively flat, wide open spaces.

Awesome reservoir w/ mountain views where you can rent paddle boards. Fun in the sun!
