The majestic Glanni waterfall in Nordurá river. A viewing deck offers a great view of the waterfall and in the summer time you can see wind North Atlantic salmon jump in the river. Nearby, you will find Paradísarlaut, a beautiful hollow, surrounded by a mossy lava field. A small pond is in the middle of the hollow, fed by a small stream from under the lava. The hollow is a favourite picnic stop among locals, since it offers shelter from the wind.

Beautiful surroundings, hike along a path to the platform facing the waterfall. Also continue to the cove of Paradise a little further in the lava field, please stay on the wooden plank path and no dipping in the pool. Take a longer hike down the path to the river Norðurá.
