This an old fairly large and family run restaurant offering all the range of the specialities from Bologna, from the famous tortellini, lasagne, tortelloni, tagliatelle and many more, to the steamed meats and the roasted meats proposed by the waiters on the characteristic trolleys, and sided by a choice of vegetable dishes that includes the “friggione” (onions first macerated for four hours with little salt and sugar, then stewed for a couple of hours with a little tomato). Among the desserts, typical of Bologna is the “Zuppa Inglese” where slices of sponge cake, or savoiardi biscuits, are soaked in custard, cocoa cream and alchermes liqueur for a delicious tri-colour result.

True Bolognese cuisine Family atmosphere, certainly not a classy or modern place. Friendly staff. Excellent tortellini in broth and lasagna as first courses, as second courses you should not miss the roast and boiled meat carts.

Traditional bolognese food, famous for the Bollito. Bollito misto is a typicall Bologna dish, made of vegetables and various meats, such as chicken, beef, and sausage, simmered together and usually served with an anchovy-garlic sauce. The particularity of the Bologna recipe is the usage of Cotechino (typical large cooked pork sausage) and Zampone (pig’s trotters stuffed with sausage meet). Bollito misto is usually served with Purè di patate (mashed potatoes) as a side dish.
