Walk along this pretty promenade in Canal Saint Martin and its counterpart on the other side of the canal, Quai de Valmy. There are lots of great shops and cafés along the way.

Made famous by the French movie Amelie, the leafy streets lining the canal St Martin has become a very popular spot for a Sunday brunch in the cafes and restaurants lining it. If you are on a budget, you can bring your picnic and eat it sitting right on the bank of the canal. Come early to be sure to find a spot.
