A magnificent canyon with the largest number of basalt rock columns in Iceland and a stunning blue-green glacier river to contrast. One of the most popular photogenic scenes in Iceland today. Stuðlagil requires some easy walk from the road, approximately 4 km each way and is about 50 km from Egilsstaðir on the way to Mývatn.

Beautiful basalt columns in by the river. One of more beautiful unknown places in Iceland. Be care full with kids -high fall. *If in the spring -can be difficult to explore due to melting snow -high water level in the river.
