Teds is one of the last proper British cafs. Affectionately called a 'greasy spoon' by us elders. Its not really greasy, but it is busy, and bustling with eaters of all sorts, mostly workers or locals. All day breakfasts are set menus but you can swap ingredients to suit. The toast is free and self service, with marmalade too if its for the side. The days newspapers, red tops, are on a stand for all. The windows get steamed up when its really busy. This is how British cafes use to be. And fondly remembered. Sometimes the food takes five minutes , sometimes twenty, sometimes its overcooked, sometimes perfect. Theres a degree of pot luck, but its all part of the vibe.
