Very challenging hike, but the easiest hike where you can actually touch the glacier and explore an ice cave. Totally beautiful, some parts are like walking on the moon. Full day kinda hike. Come to me for advice if you want to do this one!

50 minutes up the trail will lead you to one of the best views of the mendenhall glacier. This is also where the ice cave trail spurs from.

Have you heard about the ice caves in Mendenhall Glacier? This is the trail to go see them. It's not an easy or kid safe trail. There are tour guides you can use to go to the caves and this is highly recommended. It's well traveled so if you run into another group of people as if you can join them and people are usually up for company. When going out for a hike, please let your hosts know where you are going and when you expect to return. Please take your cell phone or you can borrow our vhf radio.
