Good walks of all lengths and difficulty. Rich in wildlife as retains part of the old Caledonian forest. Resident Osprey and Capercaillie. Ring the bell at St Lesmo's Chapel.

A pleasant day trip to walk in the Highlands without heading up properly into the hills. Nice surroundings and views and a great selection of walks through the woods or along the river

Whether you come to watch the wildlife, walk in the woodland or engage in more active pursuits, there's something for everyone at Glen Tanar. Choose from a range of waymarked paths, picnic areas by the river or viewpoints with benches. There are also opportunities for fishing, mountain biking, horse riding and bird watching.

Please visit beautiful Glen Tanar! This place has my heart and is just 3 miles away. Less if you like a serious climb! We are lucky enough to be welcomed by the estate owner Michael Bruce. There are miles and miles of trails to walk here, rivers to dip your toes in and you can even climb the most Easterly Munro, Mount Keen from here. You’ll see, deer, Kingfisher if you’re lucky and if you’re unlucky, Cappercaillie who are super territorial and huge! They are protected so if you meet one, turn and walk/run the other way!
