Babbacombe Downs A short distance from Torquay harbour is Babbacombe Downs. It is the highest cliff top promenade in the country sitting around 300 feet above sea level. On a blue-sky day, the views will stretch right across to Portland Bill in Dorset. It’s an ideal spot for a picnic or for enjoying the classic seaside treat of fish and chips. Plus, here you can take a journey back in time on the Babbacombe Cliff Railway with a trip down to the Oddicombe Beach.

Wonderful views overlooking across Babbacombe bay. Lovely walk across the downs, grab fish & chips from the famous 'Hanbury's' or Drakes Several pubs & cafe's : 'Angels' on Babbacombe Downs do gorgeous cream teas!
