If you don’t know where to start, it’s a good idea have an instructor guide your snowmobile experience. Lake Tahoe Adventures will hook you up with everything you’ll need for a two-hour tour.

This snowmobiling rental place does guided tours on snowmobiles. It was reported to me by a guest that they only do guided tours, and that it's pretty timid snowmobiling. Good for families perhaps.

Just down the road is a great Snow Mobile Tour company that we enjoy with our kids! Turn up the engine and see some back country and climb to 9,000 feet to get amazing panoramic views of the lake – take great family photos. We can promise smiles all around! We like to use this company for their professionalism, attention to detail and fun. They allow kids too! You can get there using the “locals” trail – Pioneer Trail and avoid traffic in South Lake Tahoe.
