iking World is located at the seaside in the town of Reykjanesbær with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Viking World is a five exhibition museum along with a settlement zoo, a playground and an outdoor classroom. The biggest attraction of Viking World is the magnificent Viking ship the Icelander built by the Icelandic ship builder Mr Gunnar Marel Eggertsson in 1996 who used an authentic ninth century viking ship as a model. He concentrated on using the same material and methods as the Vikings did. But Gunnar did not stop at that but took the Icelandair on a journey and sailed it to New York in 2000 as a part of the millennial celebration of Leifur Eiríksson’s journey to the New Worl

Viking world is a magnificent exhibition hall that houses e.g. a reconstruction of the Viking ship Íslendingur, which sailed to America in 2000 to commemorate Leif Eiríksson's voyage to the New World.

Awesome museum, a wonderland for people who are into all things Viking. They have a buffet breakfast too and it is included in the price of one of the tickets I think.. beautiful location as with everything in Iceland and good food, Good exhibits, they have various things you can buy too and plenty of history. They let you play traditional games with instructions, you can wear the traditional garb and click pics.. well worth the visit. Approx 5 km. from Little White Castle.
