The beautiful Igreja do Carmo, another must-see when visiting Porto, built between 1756 and 1768. Something rare that you will notice is the fact that the Igreja do Carmo is located next to another church, the Igreja dos Carmelitas, built between 1616 and 1628. When looking from the front, we have the impression that the two churches are together but, in reality, they are separated by the narrowest building in Porto, called Casa Escondida. Do not hesitate to enter to discover this impressive property. The ticket will also allow you to visit the Igreja do Carmo and the Catacombs.

Located in downtown Porto, the Carmo and Carmelitas churches look like the biggest church in the city. In fact, they are two churches separated by one of the world’s narrowest houses. This house was built to make all contact between the nuns and the monks impossible. If you look closely, you’ll find Carmo Church (on the right) and Carmelitas Church (on the left).

Built in the second half of the 18th century. Due to its architecture and interior carvings, it is one of the most remarkablable buildings of Porto rococo. In 1912, its lateral was covered with tiles.

Carmo church stands out by its facade full of blue tiles. Also if you take a closer look there's actually another church just next to it (Carmelitas) they're separated by the narrowest house in Porto.

Start with two churches, Igreja dos Carmelitas and Capela de Santa Catarina—blue and white never looked so irresistibly good as on their tile-coated facades.
