Some of the best restaurants in the city are in the South End. The Beehive, Cinquecento, Gaslight are some of my favorites.

The South End has always been a popular area, especially for young professionals, families and its large LGBTQ community. The food and arts scene is abundant and ever-changing, with blocks of high-end restaurants that attract foodies. The rows of brownstones mirror those of neighboring Back Bay and offer views of gorgeous houses, flower boxes, and gaslight street lamps. Those sights alone are worth a visit.

Its popular dining and drinking scene spans family-friendly bistros, trendy eateries, gay bars and low-key pubs. The old warehouses of the SoWa Art & Design District house galleries, studios and home-decor shops. Artisans, farmers and food trucks gather at Sunday markets May through October.

Doesn't matter what time of the day, the South End is an excellent spot to do a little shopping, find a perfectly quaint restaurant/bar and continue on to some live music.
