This pub is approximately a 15min drive away, but it is the loveliest, proper Yorkshire country pub around. Serving a wide range of pub classics, it’s a great place to go after a walk or to enjoy a pint. There is a fantastic circular walk starting in Cowesby (the next door village), which takes you up to the moors and through a beautiful Rhododendron tunnel back into Cowesby – we would recommend doing then and then heading to the Dog & Gun after. You do need to book though – they are very popular.

This pub is approximately a 15min drive away, but it is the loveliest, proper Yorkshire country pub around. Serving a wide range of pub classics, it’s a great place to go after a walk or to enjoy a pint. The Gallery is a leading contemporary fine art gallery that was established in 1988, and it is named after the youngest Bell sister. It has been described as one of ‘Yorkshire’s best kept secrets’, and over the years it has earned the reputation as a place to view and purchase a wide range of works by local, national and international artists.
Exhibitions change monthly, representing and promoting an extraordinarily wide range of both established and emerging artists. The works shown include a broad range of media including painting, printmaking and ceramics. We hope you find the time to pop in and take a look.
