We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

The mews is one of 3 holiday houses in a terrace, located up a private driveway. Newly renovated for 2022. The accommodation is ideal for families, as well as walkers, bikers and cyclists. With easy transport links to the Lakes, the coast and beyond. The mews is wheelchair accessible with ramps and widened doorways.

You will have the house to yourselves - we will be far away, but contactable should you have any questions or issues. It's self check-in and check-out. Relax at this peaceful place to stay in the Western Lake District. There are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. The King George pub is only a minute walk away, serving lovely home cooked food and real ale. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, known locally as “La’al Ratty” is only a ten minute walk from the cottage. Eskdale Stores is open daily. The cottage itself has been recently renovated and has a secure garden with lovely views, ideal dogs.
