Visit Potamos Beach in Malia, a lovely beach much quieter than the main beach in Malia but well organised. You can alternatively take your own umbrella and be away from the crowd. It's situated next to the archaeological site (Malia Palace) and it's just beautiful, swimming by the archaeological ruins. There you can also see this rare flower, pancratium maritimum, which was first documented in a mural in Knosos.
