Super beautiful place, great for taking pictures and enjoying the view! Already the way up to the castle is really nice, and it feels like you're walking through a poetic fairy tale. Small paths under the trees, framed by little blue flowers... The castle itself is 8€, which is OK. You can walk along on the castle walls. Do take a scarf and jacket, it can get super windy up there.

Small paths under the trees, framed by little blue flowers... The castle itself is 8€, which is OK. You can walk along on the castle walls. The views are truly epic from the palace and the gardens are absolutely enchanting. The walk up to the palace through the gardens is quite challenging. One should definitely take water. It is only 13km from the Villa!

The western most point of Europe, Cabo da Roca has breathtaking cliffs and views. The drive there is magical! A great day trip.

Local shepherds walk their goats and sheep down into the canyon. Many of the farmers pick oranges and lay them in baskets for wary hikers to munch on. It is only a couple minutes from the Villa and is definitely worth a morning stroll before heading in to town to enjoy an espresso.
