Located about an hour from Portland at Mount Hood’s base, Zigzag Mountain Farm offers 50 acres of meadows and forest, bordering a national forest. Camp in your own tent, van, or camper; stay in one of eight yurts, a rent-a-tent, the original two-bedroom homestead cabin, or our tiny house. The farm has an organic garden, communal campfire circle, picnic areas, a campers’ kitchen in a converted city bus, outdoor seating with BBQs, a kids’ play structure, hiking trails, and a year-round creek.

The stars are brilliant with no light pollution to dim them, and the sunsets are spectacular. The travel trailer is a 2014 Keystone Springdale 202 that is spacious as trailers go and has a standard queen size bed that is amazingly comfortable. There are many amenities. The location is perfect for day trips to many of the area's hot spots.

Our tiny home started life as a commuter bus in Manchester, England, in 1953, then did stints in San Francisco and Mt. St. Helens before finding a home as the Grilled Cheese Grill in Portland. Elk Meadows in Trout Lake is one of our favorite campgrounds and is only 20 minutes away!!!
