Ideal for overnight stop when traveling the N3 or N5, or for a comfortable longer stay when visiting our area for business or leisure. Eastern Freestate charm is found in abundance around here!

A bright, fully furnished studio cottage in a quiet, upmarket suburb halfway between Johannesburg and Durban. Central to exploring the treasures of the northern Drakensberg and NE Free State. Waterfall River Lodge

This is a unique, comfortable, fully kitted, self-catering house sleeping 8/10 people. Hidden in a quiet corner of our working farm it overlooks a pristine section of the Wilge River, with the famous waterfall and Nelson's Kop mountain providing spectacular scenery. Guests will be able to enjoy absolute peace, uninterrupted views and walks in almost every direction. Please note that the property is remote and the last 200m of the access road will require a high clearance vehicle.

Sandstone Cottage neatly stowed away on Sardaville Game and Holiday Farm, Eastern Free State. Quick access to N1. 3 hours drive from JHB. Closest bigger town is Harrismith. Your hosts, Jan and Carla, stay on farm Draaihoek, next to Sardaville with their four children. Sardaville's Bergvilla has a neat, country interior. The 900 h farm allows for gorgeous views with a wide variety of gazelles and buck to appreciate. Fishing dams - one located just behind the villa.

Elm Tree Garden Cottage

Rose Garden Manor House B+B Sitting in the shade of a 150 year old Elm tree with a view of Platberg Mountain and sleeping in one of Harrismith’s historical landmarks is a treat. Harrismith is the gem of the Free State, the gateway to the Drakensberg. The Rose Garden manor house was built in 1895 and is owned and run by David and Gill Weaver who have maintained the tradition of a classic B+B so you get to experience life with a South African family.

Wyford - Poplar Cottage

Wyford is a beautiful old school farm set in a valley just 2km off the N3 (about midway between Johannesburg and Durban) offering private self catering cottages. Wyford is great for families, especially with children, and good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers. It is of historical interest as it is situated on the first pass over the Drakensburg mountains used by the ox wagons taking supplies to the mines from the coast.

A hop, skip and a jump off the N3, situated in in the Van Reenen Eco Village Precinct. Down the road from the little church tea garden. A great one night stop off. Breakfast at the Tea Garden (not included) or take a early morning walk before continuing with your journey. Dinner pre-ordered for delivery. Good parking for Caravans and trailers. No charge for children/elderly parent sleeping on lounge bed if accompanied by both parents.
