Table Mountain is iconic in Cape Town, and people who live here are very attached to "their mountain". If you are fit and able, you can hike up Platteklip and catch the cableway down.

I have taken City Sightseeing Tours in many cities. Some have mediocre, but every winter, we ride the Red Bus here in the Mother City. Worth a day out with lots of hop off options.

The Two Ocean Aquarium is well worth a visit. We have spent many hours there as a family, both with small children, and now with teens. There is so much information there, and so much to see, that there is more than enough to keep all ages well entertained for a few hours.

Dock RoadThe Two Ocean Aquarium is well worth a visit. We have spent many hours there as a family, both with small children, and now with teens. There is so much information there, and so much to see, that there is more than enough to keep all ages well entertained for a few hours.
If you have been following the furore over the Rhodes Must Fall campaign, you may fancy a visit to the Rhodes Memorial. From there you will have fabulous views of the Cape Flats, towards Gordon's Bay, and also around to Table Bay. There is a restaurant there, but I don't know what it is like. If you do go through, please let me know.

If you hike it, wear sensible shoes, take water, put on sunscreen, wear a hat and stick to the path.

Cape Point is very scenic, both for walking and driving. You can see where the two oceans meet in a very beautiful part of the world. You may well meet the baboons who live there, DO NOT FEED THEM.

If you are a keen bird watcher, Rondevlei Nature Reserve may be just the place for you to visit. There are a few bird hides there, and perhaps you'll get to see the hippo that is said to live there.

The service at K1 is not always the fastest, but the sushi is freshly made and some of the best I have ever eaten. The pricing is good and if you aren't in a rush, the food is worth waiting for.

Great place to eat out in Hout Bay. You have fabulous views over the harbour and they have great live music some nights. They also run winter specials.

This little vegan restaurant is a gem that we discovered fairly recently. It is in the heart of Cape Town on Buiten Street. There is parking on the streets nearby. There are parking meter staff that will issue you with a parking tab.
