This was our first-ever favorite place to eat in Chicago. It's small plate, family style Italian. We fell in love with it 7 or 8 years ago, and still love it a ton. The fondue (both cheese and chocolate) are the best!

In our opinion Malnati's is the best deep dish in the city! If you like meat, we highly recommend the Chicago Classic. If you like veggies, you can't beat The Lou. This may be sacrilege, but their thin crust is pretty yummy too. The cookie pizza is awesome for dessert. **This is the location that delivers to our house. There's a different location we'd recommend if you want to dine in.

If you are looking for tried and true Chicago hot dog excellence this is the place! We also loved the Italian Beef Sandwich. If you can spare room for dessert, the chocolate cake is so worth it.

This is our Chinese food delivery place of choice. It's pretty standard fare and close to our place.

This place is walking distance from our house and will totally cut it if you are looking for easy. It's not the same quality as the places in Greektown, but it'll do when you aren't looking to venture far.

This is another favorite of ours from before we even lived in the city. We highly recommend the flaming saganaki and the taramosalata starter. The calamari is yummy, and you can't go wrong with any of the entress, especially if they involve lamb.

Meli is just a short train ride from our house, and has an amazing brunch! Their benedicts are especially good, but we've even had their oatmeal and loved it, so you can't really go wrong.

This is another great Greektown gem. You can order a full meal or simply go here for pastry and coffee. Their baklava is wonderful as you would expect, but don't discount the awesomeness of the chocolate mousse. :) We sometimes do dinner at Greek Islands and then walk down the street to Artopolis for dessert.

Along the trail you'll find Chicago's most popular beaches, Navy Pier access, great city views, Museum Campus access and of course the beauty that is Lake Michigan!

This is the most amazing museum ever! There's so much to see and do that you could easily spend a whole day here. We love the indoor tornado, the German U boat, and the giant train set in particular, but there's so much to explore. It's worth the trek to Hyde Park.

We had a membership when we first moved because we loved going whenever we wanted to see the dolphin and beluga whales.

We have done the Skydeck many times with family and friends. If you can go in the morning on a workday, you can usually avoid the lines. The Ledge (glass boxes that hang off the side of the building) is fun, and we always have fun taking new photos from up there. It mostly depends on if you like seeing the city from up high. If not, then this probably won't interest you. It's a great view, but not so special beyond that.

We like to catch Buckingham Fountain when we are already hanging out on the Lakefront trail. It's got great skyline views.
