A pleasant short and easy walk around the lake with plenty of swans and woodland. Approximately 20 car journey where there is plenty of free parking. Ice cream stall usually open and public convenience.

The park has lakeside walks, woodland tracks and open grassed areas for all to enjoy. Coarse fishing permits can be obtained for a day’s fishing on the lake or trout fishing at Higham lakes fishery, which has a choice of 3 lakes and is only 5 miles away.

Pleasant small lake and woodland walk. Nearby Shaftoe Crags great for slightly more energetic (and bouldering) - head for tiny lake east of Bolam Lake, parking at cattle grid.
