Sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso of Ossuccio On a high plateau situated opposite the Isola Comacina at Lake Como, between 1635 and 1710, the Sacro Monte of Ossuccio was built and dedicated to the mystery of the Holy Rosary. The devotional itinerary progresses along an ascending path lined with 14 chapels and terminates at the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Soccorso, the altar of which serves as the fifteenth and last station.

The Sanctuary is located at the end of the Sacred Mountain of Ossuccio avenue, in a beautiful position overlooking the lake, the Comacina island and the Tremezzina area. Included in 2003 in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Sacred Mountain of Ossuccio consists of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Succour and fourteen chapels illustrating the Mysteries of the Rosary through 230 clay sculptures produced by stucco artists from the Intelvi valley.
