Is a beautifully kept medieval town with some fascinating historical sites including Etrustan remains, it also has many very good lake-side restaurants and bars.

Bolsena is our favourite day out, it’s an amazing, beautiful lake about 30mins drive or a 40-50 min cycle to get there, all downhill but to get back maybe 1hr 30mins – quicker if you cycle a lot! there’s a lot of uphill! At the lake there are many bars and restaurants and areas to walk around the edge of the lake and there is dedicated paid for parking. Bolsena the town itself is lovely for a walk round or a casual coffee or lunch. You can walk from the town right up through all of the many routes through the castle area to the top of the hill where you have amazing views over the lake.
