Shinnecock East County Park is an easy drive on the CR 80 route from Westhampton Beach. It’s worth spending the whole day there, especially if you enjoy fishing. Locals believe it’s the best surf fishing in New York. Few facilities mean you can enjoy the beach without too many crowds during spring and fall, but the beach does get busy in summer. Within walking distance, you will find restaurants, but you may also pack a picnic. The natural area has marshes as well, which makes for nice pictures and when the tide’s out you can explore more.
