RT 116 N-S through central RI. Also running N-S through the forests and little towns of western Rhode Island is the Victory Highway RI 102 from Slatersville to Wickford harbor. Other scenic rts include Ministerial Road in South Kingstown--in mid-June it is lined with blooming laurel. In August, these forested inland roads burst into the delicious fragrance of our native summersweet (coastal pepperbush).
