The delightfully cute Japanese craze of hedgehog cafes has made its way over to Chiang Mai. And if you were wondering, Harinezumi means hedgehog in Japanese. The Harinezumi cafe has three menus available where you can buy food or drinks while you spend some time with the super-cute hedgehogs and guinea pigs. Menu’s start at 160 baht for a drink and 1 hour of hog time. When you walk into Harinezumi you’re greeted by welcoming staff who seat you at a table with a sunken in glass fish tank. They will then ‘pair’ you with a new hedgehog friend and a pair of gloves so you can handle the prickly fella.
