More than a historical monument, Huniade Castle is also the oldest building in Timisoara, being built between 1443 - 1447 by Ioan de Hunedoara, on the ruins of an old castle from the 14th century. In the inner court were discovered the foundations of the masonry and the tower donjon, which is supposed to date from 1307 - 1314.

Muzeul Castelul Huniade este de o mare importanță deoarece iese în evidență prin arhitectura medievală. Totodată, aici se găsește și Muzeul Național al Banatului unde explică istoria detaliată atât al orașului, cât și al zonei propriu zise. Este amplasat lângă Opera română, la 14 minute de mers pe jos de la apartament.
