This is pretty much the safest place to shop for tourists. You can pretty much buy anthing here. Street food is good. You don't have to pay an entry fee, but there are always people there asking for money. It's also a hub for transportation for ALL OVER the country...

This is a public market in Managua and if you can't make it to the market in Masaya, there is a good artisanal area where you can buy souvenirs.
