Visit a vessel that was used for seal hunt. In the dock is the SNOWHOW exhibition, showing how the famous polar explorers Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen used local knowhow from the samis, and the inuits in order to survive in these harsh areas. I was involved in making the exhibition some years ago

Imagine Northern Norway in the 50's, back to the time the society mostly consisted of fishermen and people self-sustained of what they could hunt and farm. MS Polarstjerna is a conserved fishing vessle from that time and you get to see a cross section of history. I really recommend getting a guided tour of this vessle. It will get you the insight on what Norway is built up on top of.
