Our cottage was completely renovated in 2021 and is in a great location for walkers, cyclists, and explorers. The village has historic Richard III connections, and is ideally situated to explore York, Castle Howard, the North York Moors or the Yorkshire coast. There is a shop/Post Office, and walking routes right outside the door. There are two pubs, The Castle at the foot of the Green, and The Highwayman, which serves good pub grub.

58 Marygate, York (white cottage, left in the picture) is a 300 year old cottage and has been completely renovated to a very high standard, whilst retaining its original period features and charm. We have crisp cotton bed linen, fluffy towels, top appliances… etc. It has a superb view at the front of the house over the entrance to the Museum Gardens and St Olaves Church. Marygate is a fascinating street in a central York location, it's not too busy so is quiet at night.

Pear Tree Barn, York 5m, Village Location

Pear Tree Barn has been lovingly restored and converted as holiday accommodation during 2016. The old timbers have been retained but are not obtrusive, where the height of the interior allows the original A frame roof timbers add that necessary rustic charm to what is now a modern property. Due to the coronavirus, we are taking additional steps to clean and sanitise frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
