Woodpecker Cottage (Dog Friendly)

Set in the pretty, sandstone village of Great Salkeld, Woodpecker Cottage is the perfect Cumbrian retreat. This single storey dog friendly cottage, comfortably sleeps 2 and has the use of a large garden. You’ll love Great Salkeld with its excellent village pub, ancient church and its many countryside walks. The village is set in the tranquil Eden Valley, close to the river Eden. Just 10 miles from the Lake District National Park, it makes an ideal base from which to explore this stunning region.

The Rookery

This 400 year old coach house was built around the turn of the 1600's. It has quirky uneven walls, beams made from sailing ships that travelled the world, and a pretty courtyard garden. There's no kitchen, but is a dining room with mini fridge, microwave kettle, crockery, cutlery and tea making things and a large container for you to leave your dishes out for me. *DOGS* Please keep dogs off the bed and furniture because I find the dog hairs just spread over everything in the washing machine.

The Coach House at Rivendell is an idyllic stone cottage in a courtyard beside the Magical Barn which is also available on Airbnb. Set in a lush green valley with hills to wander around and pet lambs to feed, quaint little streams, the beautiful enclosed valley with its miniature waterfall and dark skies is delightful. All just minutes from Hadrian's Wall. Explore wonderful Northumberland, the Lake District to the West is an easy drive as is the Pennines to the South and Scotland to the North.

Our beautiful shepherd's hut sits in four acres of secluded woodland in rural Hexhamshire. Enjoy the peaceful solitude, with glimpsed views through the mature oaks onto the North Pennines. Surrounded by miles of footpaths, bridleways and moorland, there are walking, cycling and riding options in every direction. Nearby rural pubs offer delicious local ales and fantastic food; or try some home raised, rare breed pork over the firepit grill, then a drink on the raised deck in the evening sun.

The Shipping Container, Springwell

An ‘Amazing Spaces’ inspired shipping container conversion, set in a peaceful secluded wildlife friendly garden, at the foot of the Pennine hills. The container is a 5 minute walk from the picturesque Talkin village which has a friendly pub serving food. A woodburning stove (logs supplied) ensures the container stays cosy in all weathers. It makes an excellent base to explore Hadrian's Wall, the North Lakes and the Eden Valley.. or a perfect stop off point on your way to or from Scotland.

Set in a beautifully converted barn with oak beams, it's the ideal getaway for small families, couples, friends, and solo travellers. Melmerby village is home to the welcoming Shepherd’s Inn pub and the award-winning Village Bakery. For everyday essentials, the local shop in Langwathby is nearby, and the towns of Penrith and Alston are just a short drive away.

Our new handcrafted shepherds hut has en-suite facilities and underfloor heating. It has an enclosed patio with seats and a chiminea. We are situated in a very quiet part of Northumberland with excellent walking and cycling from site. The Pennine way is a field away, we have disused railway lines with viaduct and riverside walks. Nearby is the market town of Alston, Penrith and the north lakes, Barnard Castle in Teasdale. Stanhope in Weardale. Hadrian's wall, Hexham, Brampton and Carlisle

The Nook is a beautiful 17th Century detached stone cottage, refurbished to modern standards whilst retaining period charm. Located in the countryside, a short walk away from Alston's town centre which includes a pub, cafe and some shops. Perfect for a relaxing break in an area of outstanding natural beauty, lots of scenic walks from the doorstep. Private garden with a hot tub, a perfect way to view the stars on a clear night. This former farmer's cottage situated in Northumberland National Park has recently been totally refurbished. We also have a smaller cottage next door, which is listed separately on Airbnb, if you have a large party of guests wishing to get away from it all! About 1.5 miles from Hadrians Wall and around 4 miles from the local town of Haltwhistle which is merited with being the Centre of Britain. We are a fully working farm, around a 1000 acres, and have cows and sheep.
