Parks & Nature
The main beach, patrolled during peak times. About 1k north of the surf club is access for 4WD for those so inclined (it's pretty soft sand though) and dogs are also allowed up there. Access this from the road beside the golf club - Sanderling Avenue.

Sightseeing
Catch a Ferry from Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay and back and get a wonderful view of life on the river and a bit of history if you get the right captain. Hop off for a coffee, ice cream or a meal then head back on the return ferry. You might even see a Dolphin!
