Also a great spot for a picnic or simply visit and walk around the various horticultural masterpieces. Métis-sur-mer is also known as a unique location in the Bas-St-Laurent. The City of Métis-sur-Mer celebrated last year the arrival of the first Scottish settlers in the Mitis 200 years ago. Descendants of Scottish families still live in the small village that has become a popular seaside resort of Quebec's English-speaking community.
