It is a garden café/restaurant and I find the landscaping and atmosphere very pleasant, with the goldfish ponds and fountain, very leafy and shady, eclectic re-used furniture. Not open at night.

It is a great place to buy your favourite breakfast pastry or bread all baked in the wood-fired oven on the premises. It is also a café so you can have your treat there.

This is a typical Australian pub, where you can meet with friends to drink and have a reasonably priced meal and listen to live music on some nights. As with most pub it can be a little noisy therefore if you want to chat and catch up with friends where conversation is important, probably not the best place to choose.

This is a small and friendly shopping complex. It has a Woolworth Super market for your basics, but it is much much more. It is like a village square where locals meet up with friends, with comfortable outdoor lounges and a children's play area to keep the children occupied. There are ten or eleven café/restaurants, there is a video hire, news agency, bakery, fruit shop, healthful shop, chemist, wine cellar, florist, gifts and decor, hairdressers, jeweller, shoe repairer, clothes alterations and one or two small fashion outlets.

There are ten or eleven café/restaurants, there is a video hire, news agency, bakery, fruit shop, healthful shop, chemist, wine cellar, florist, gifts and decor, hairdressers, jeweller, shoe repairer, clothes alterations and one or two small fashion outlets.
The IGA supermarket is worth knowing about as it is open 24hours. It also has hot food bar and ready meals to buy and take away. It is located on Vincent Street just west of the Oxford Street and Vincent Street intersection. There is a handy car park at the rear of the shop.

313 Vincent StThe IGA supermarket is worth knowing about as it is open 24hours. It also has hot food bar and ready meals to buy and take away. It is located on Vincent Street just west of the Oxford Street and Vincent Street intersection. There is a handy car park at the rear of the shop.
Parks & Nature
Lake Monger is a reserver where you will find WA's black swans as well as many other water birds, including pelicans, ducks and coots. There is a cement path the whole way around the lake so it is easy to walk, jog, ride a bike or push a pram. The whole way around the lake is 3.5 km and the more fitness conscious will jog or walk this twice.
It is a great spot for a family picnic, there are several children's playgrounds and plenty of room to throw a ball around for a friendly game of your favourite sport.
The lake is within walking distance form my house with an overhead footbridge to cross the freeway.

Lovely place to walk have picnic etc. The is the DNA Tower for those who are not afraid of heights, a tree-top walk. There is also an outdoor cinema, many playgrounds, cafés, restaurant and gift/souvenir shop.

This is a handy, friendly store for your essentials when you don't really want to go to a super market. It is easy to park almost outside the door, wiz in and out, get a few things and be on your way. good for late shopping of things you need immediately.

The is also close by the Art Gallery run by School of Art & Design,Central TAFE (although it may have changed its name recently). The Cultural Centre is situated in Northbridge just across the overpass from the city train station.
Although this is not in Mt Hawthorn, we are only 3 Km of Perth CBD and an easy bus ride away.
