Gilroys is a pub and below iit is Ait Eile a restaurant right on your doorstep. It can be busy and during winter is only open close to weekends but this will be obvious as the car park for the house is beside the restaurant.

Just a few moments stroll from the house. Its nice for a leisurely breakfast as they will top up your coffee, a rare thing in Ireland! It also does decent lunches.

Well worth a drive of about 10 kms down the very scenic coast road. Its a bit of a revelation when you get there as the food is really top class (with prices a bit on the steep side but plenty of options so you can budget as you will). Food is all organic and much of it local and the setting and staff are very cool. The tea is proper tea from tea leaves in a tea pot with a tea strainer! Worth the trip but check in advance to make sure they are open.

In the town of Ballina and you can reach it easily by taking the first right after the Diamond Coast Hotel and taking that road back into town. The road itself is not one to be taken at speed as there are stone walls that regularly drop rocks onto the road so keep your eyes peeled.
The Ice House is ideal if you want a bit of fine dining during your visit. Service is excellent and the setting is spectacular.

Has a restaurant but probably better as a takeaway seeing as how you already have the best view in Enniscrone where you are sitting. Food is very good and there will be a menu in the house.

Drinks & Nightlife
Great for a quiet pint. They do food as well. Two doors as you enter. Go right and you are in the lounge. Go left and you are in the bar. I prefer the bar.

Sightseeing
Its about an hours drive down a very dramatic coast. its actually right beside Ceide Fields. The Ceide Fields visitors centre is great if you have a big interest in iron age settlements.....
If however you like the coast view then walk to the edge of Dun Briste and you will have your breath taken away (literally if its blowing a gale)
On the way back there is a coffee shop called Marys just as you enter the village of Balycastle. Its a lovely traditional place with amazing brown bread. well worth a visit and preferable I think to the coffee shop in Ceide Fields which is fine but a little generic.

Really nice woods and there is a castle in the middle but the paths in the woods or lovely for walking or running. There is also a fairy trail that younger kids will adore.
