Ask the locals where the Langstrand beach is as there is no ability to mark it on Google Maps. You can decide to take a day at the beach (note you need a 4x4 to go on the beach or walk about 50 metres if only a 4x2 vehicle), or you could go for a walk up the dunes. The foot of the dunes can be reached with a 4x2 vehicle. We normally go after 5pm for a sun downer as it is a little bit cooler. We love taking our kids and it is great fun in the dunes. My personal favorite is to buy a "dune board" at Cymot Hardware Store in Swakopmund and go dune boarding. Ensure you wax the board well and for the adventurous go down the steep end of the dunes! Luv it and amazing family fun.
