It is a great spot to get a taste and feel for the rural Panamanian culture. Enjoy breakfast or lunch and dinner featuring rice and beans served with beef, chicken, or pork and plantains. They also have hamburgers and other sandwiches on the menu. Lemonade, pineapple, watermelon, and wild berry drinks are offered depending on what fruits are in season.

The El Panamonte is a historical Inn and houses both my favorite fine dining restaurant and bar in Boquete. The restaurant offers exquisite food and wine in an elegant white table cloth environment. Choose from native Trout Almondine and Filet Mignon with Mushrooms and a Balsamic Reduction or any of their incredible home made dishes. owned by renowned Panamanian Chef Charlie Collins you simply can't go wrong. The bar at the Panamonte is incredible and offers a very tropical but elegant vibe with two fireplaces - one indoors and another outdoors. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers a superb selection of specialty drinks, Cordials and wine.

Natural beauty surrounds you and the area is perfect for hiking and exploring. The Town itself offers limited amenities - a couple of local Tiendas (small grocery stores, one restaurant, a furniture maker and a mechanic who can fix almost anything.

Boquete is one of the most picturesque towns in Panama and the temperature is perfect for strolling the streets or checking out the many local venues.
David is the second largest city in Panama and is the fastest growing. The town offers all the amenities of a large city and has new hospitals, great shopping as well as a growing restaurant scene. David is about 40 minutes south of the house.

Sightseeing
The Rio Caldera River runs from the Fortuna Dam until it joins with the Caldera River a few miles from the house. The river boasts many swimming holes and even some small rapids during the dry season. During the rainy season it is often a raging torrent.
