One of the biggest icon of Sydney a MUST-SEE. You have plenty of bar and restaurant around that gave you a lovely evening and view. Stunning view from the Harbour Bridge too and while you are around, you can visit the Rocks, one of my favourite area of the city. You can also do dining cruise on the harbour. Lovely Touristic thinks to do. Don't forget the Fireworks for NYE as well!!

Only few establishment are allow to keep there door open after 1.30am, the Casino The Star in Darling Harbour is one of them.

Parks & Nature
This other iconic of our amazing city is a great place to relax, have a nice view on the Opera and the city or just have a look of the botanical treasure of Australia. My secret tips it's too buy come Bird or Parrot Mix (not bread as it hurt them) and you can feed the birds, if you are lucky some cockatoos and parrots will join the fest and you can pad them or have them on your arms. They are really friendly when you have food!!

My number 2 in my top 5 beach in Sydney. Just 10 minutes walk from Manly Beach, a little and sweet beach (often not as busy as Manly, especially in low season). If you follow those step up, only 5 minutes walk from the car park you get on an amazing lookout on Manly and the ocean. During the season you can also see whales from this point of view. There is a restaurant in Shelly Beach a bit expensive (for me) but very nice.

Probably my #1 Beach in Sydney. No waves, quiet and PERFECT for family and little ones. Amazing view, lovely little restaurant... Having an afternoon here is peaceful and relaxing (much busier during higher season but not as much as Bondi or Manly). The Rocky Point in the middle is lovely too!! I recommend this place for families time or relaxing afternoon.

My recommendation is to come by car or ferry. Watson Bay is a place that could satisfied a lot of different people. You have lovely seafood restaurant there (Doyles), a great view from the city, boats, birds, a cute little Beach (Camp Cove Beach), one coastal walk to a lighthouse and military vestiges (South Head Historic Trail) with a naturist's beach on the way, but also one short bush walk (Gap Bluff Walking track)... Everything is reunited to please the all family!!! :)

LOTS OF WALK AVAILABLE in the Royal National Park depending on your level of fitness and motivation to walk. Other lovely spot we know : Wattamolla Beach with her Rock Jump and Waterfall.

The Basin
Camping Site. You can not access it by car. You need to grab a ferry from Palm Beach. It's wild and very lovely place for Camping Lover. You need to book your night online before going. The Camping just have the minimum : Barbecue, Toilet, Shower... Possible to do kayaking too (extra cost). It's quite affordable to stay there and if you love Nature and Relaxing place I always had awesome times with my friends in this place. Wallabies and wildlife all around, awesome for kids too.
Coal and Candle Creek Picnic Area offers a perfect spot for a packed lunch (or Akuna Bay Cafe near by if nothing organise). And the West Head of Ku-Rin-Gai Chase National Park is perfect for an amazing view on the limit of Sydney. It's the extrem limit of Sydney after this point, we enter Central Coast. Looots of walk available in the Park but if you doing the one going to the beach, take your swimmers and your towel and after a great bush walk in the middle of Sydney vegetation, you could enjoy a tiny and very quiet beach. Park fees ~ ~$12/day/car

Entertainment & Activities
The SeaLife is a very nice place to visit especially if you have children. It's a good activity for rainy day too. Next door you have the Wildlife as well. My personal tip is to use the "Sydney Attraction Pass" $70 per adult or $199/family (2 adults - 2 children) that give you access to 5 top touristic attractions in Sydney (details available online or on the sydney sealife website).

Shopping
If you are a Fanatic of Shopping you want to have a look in the Westfield!!! All the biggest are in there and it is gigantic... The one in the city have access to the Sydney SkyTower (with a Bar, and Turning Restaurant and Buffet). I personnally only try the Buffet (All-You-Can-Eat from $60 to $85, see website). View is Amazing but food not so great. Quantity is here but not Quality. Restaurant would better probably but more expensive too...

For fresh, delicious and cheaper fish go have a look at the famous Sydney Fish Market. 5/10 minutes drive or 30/40 minutes walk from ours, if you do a little hook by Jubilee Park, great view on the Anzac Bridge and nice walk in this lovely park.
