The renovation of the building that housed the old Mediodía electric power station was carried out by the Herzog & De Meuron architectural studio and it has two characteristics that make it easily recognisable: its vertical garden and its apparent state of "levitation".

Rastro is the most popular open air flea market in Madrid (Spain). It is held every Sunday and public holiday during the year and is located along Plaza de Cascorro and Ribera de Curtidores, between Calle Embajadores and the Ronda de Toledo (just 300m from the apartment).
A great variety of products (new and used) can be found at el Rastro. A number of antique shops in the local area are also open on Sunday.

It´s an elegant space is a restaurant and shop in one, located in a former manor house in La Latina that, in the early 20th Century, housed the offices of the newspaper El Imparcial, which was widely read and very influential during the Regency of María Cristina.
El Imparcial is spread over two floors and has a bar, a restaurant and bar area, and a shop where they sell various gift items, specialist magazines and craft beers, among other things. The restaurant area offers authentic Madrid cuisine with a contemporary feel.

It is the most popular market in Madrid among tourists since it is located in the center of Madrid, within walking distance from Plaza Mayor. The market is not a traditional grocery market but a gourmet tapas market, with over 30 different vendors selling a wide variety of freshly prepared tapas, hams, olives, baked goods and other foods. Beer, wine and champagne are also available.
