From here, you can easily access the canal towpath which will take you for many miles through some of DCs best-kept secrets spots.
Rent a bicycle and you can go all the way to Bethesda along the tow-path.

If there is only one Memorial you visit while you're here, I cannot stress the importance of it being this one. You can walk to it from the house or rent a bike and get there very comfortably along the riverfront without the need to set foot into a motorized vehicle. This iconoic Memorial is incredible. Try getting up early one morning and visiting it at Sunrise. You'll be in for an amazing experience.
