Shipwreck or in greek "To Navagio" is a boat that was washed ashore in 1979 by a big storm when its captain tried to find a secure shelter and lost control, according to local sources. Since than it attracts many visitors, but also can be seen in the famous movie "Le Grand Blue" directed by Luc Besson. You can get there with a car on a certain point and than by foot for around 100 meters downhill.

A city rumored to have been built by the mythical King Minos and his Cretan architects and which served as his secret escape. The defensive wall from the Geometric period and the 4th century B.C. Gymnasium building can be made out. The foundation of a sanctuary from the Geometric period has been preserved at the peak of the acropolis. Minoa is located in Moundoulia hill, above the port of Katapola.

Afterwards they serve "Amorgiamo Patatato" and " pligouri" , two delicious local dishes, with plenty of wine, beer or "raki psimeni" (local liquor) that is accompanied with local music, dance and plenty of Greek "kefi ".

Agia Anna beach is located on the south- eastern region of Amorgos island. You get amazing views of the Monastery; Emerging yourself into the blue waters and swim out to the sea, than look back into the clifs. Crystal clear waters with plenty of areas to sunbathe; climbing the rocks you can hear the singing of the waves trickling around them. After that long stairs exercise on the Monastery, it's worth cooling yourself down and spending some relaxing moments in those rocks.

Amorgos Botanical park its a newly founded park by Amorgian graduate students, whose goal is to protect the Amorgian flora and fauna, but also to promote biological products, like herbs, etc. It's located at Katapola town, almost 100 feet away from the port.

Taking the old trail called "Milies" (apple trees) from Katapola to Chora, from Chora to Monastery and than from Monastery to Asfondilitis. There are usually signs indicating the starting point of each path. Tip: ask the locals, will be very happy to indicate the direction of the path, plus you might hear an interesting story too.
